Given the production capacity of the hydrogen production plant, is it possible to determine the minimum feed load for the converter?
There is usually some design flexibility, with a minimum load specified
The load of hydrogen production units is generally between 30% and 120%. When the load is too low, the gas flow rate through the furnace tubes decreases, resulting in uneven distribution of the gas flow and deviations; this can lead to uneven heating of the furnace tubes, thereby damaging them as well as the catalysts.
During the commissioning period of our unit, since the subsequent units were not operating properly, we generally kept the minimum load at 40% of the design load; please take this into consideration.
