Firstly, the water supply volume is closely linked to the steam production volume; with the drum liquid level held constant, the water addition volume equals the steam production volume. This is a systemic issue; the system needs to maintain thermal equilibrium while operating. The amount and temperature of the gas undergoing conversion that enters the waste heat boiler determine the volume of steam produced. In fact, the heat carried by the steam is greater than that carried by the converted gas. This means that a higher water-to-carbon ratio is favorable for increasing steam production, but an excessively high water-to-carbon ratio increases the thermal load on the subsequent equipment, as the amount of steam used in natural gas conversion remains constant. And you need to have enough steam available. Therefore, the water-to-carbon ratio should be kept within the design specifications in order to reduce the energy consumption of the system (excessive vapor that does not participate in the reaction is condensed into water by subsequent equipment and then reheated, resulting in high fuel consumption).
