The question is as stated in the title; in my opinion, all the pumps used in the production of hydrogen from coking dry gas can be utilized. Such as medium-pressure boiler feed pumps, low-pressure pumps in acid water stripping towers, naphtha pumps – I have some personal experience and can offer some suggestions.
It is necessary to measure the pressure drop before and after the control valve in the pump outlet circuit; a large pressure difference indicates high utility value, while if the pressure difference is small, it is not necessary. The decision should be based on the payback period for the renovation costs, depending on how long your company expects to achieve a return on investment. Also, the frequency conversion cannot be increased indefinitely, as it will cause pollution to the power grid.
