I would like to ask how to measure natural gas accurately? Our company uses flow meters, and we feel that the quality of natural gas is sometimes poor, which is not cost-effective.
OP, your logic is really hard to understand for those who work in natural gas metering stations. When it comes to measuring natural gas, especially for trade purposes, many factors need to be taken into account: selecting flow meters based on the actual operating conditions, deciding whether to add analyzers depending on the composition of the natural gas, and performing third-party calibration of the flow meters, among other things.
Since it’s not cost-effective to use flow measurement, and volume measurement isn’t suitable either due to the poor composition of natural gas – that is, its low calorific value – it’s entirely possible to conduct transactions based on the calorific value. This way it becomes more cost-effective: those with higher quality and greater calorific value can be charged more, while those of lower quality are still a viable option
