Our unit is used for methanol synthesis, and it is the operators who collect samples of the steam generated as a by-product in the drum. Is it reasonable to hold them accountable if the samples do not meet the required standards?
Operators must be familiar with sampling. The laboratory technician is not familiar with on-site knowledge.
The operators go to get them; some of them don’t know where to go or how to get them. The lab technicians are only responsible for conducting sample analyses

For standard poplars with designated sampling points, sampling is carried out by oneself; for those in production environments where sampling is done ad-hoc or at non-standard points, or where there is a high risk factor, sampling is conducted in collaboration with relevant parties

Once I went to a Sinopec plant; it was the people in charge of laboratory analysis who took samples, and it had nothing to do with the operators. At the beginning here, it was also the laboratory analysts who took the samples. There are many young girls in the laboratory analysis department (Quality Control Center), and there are many single men in the workshops. When these single men see the girls coming, they rush to offer their help with sampling. Over time, it became the practice for the operators to carry out the sampling, and this turned into a standard procedure. Now, as soon as someone calls for a sample, the operators rush over right away. :lol
