Question: Calculation of tower diameter conversion for horizontal wind force in the direction of wind flow for towers

When calculating the horizontal wind load on a tower in the direction of the wind, why is only the pipeline at the top of the tower taken into account for determining the tower diameter? Do the pipelines attached to the tower along the openings on its sides, near the top, also need to be considered?

supperstone001 Is the poster trying to calculate wind loads? Yes, wind load calculations are required; I’m not sure whether the pipes in this arrangement need to be adjusted accordingly
I understand that generally, the top of a tower is exposed outside the framework and serves as the part that bears concentrated loads. Pipelines such as side manholes can be included in other loads; some of them can be added to the platform, eccentric loads, etc.
It’s not the weight load that is taken into consideration; rather, it’s the equivalent diameter when wind load is factored in. If the side pipes are also included in calculating the equivalent diameter, the resulting diameter will be larger, and thus the wind load will be greater as well
In SW6, it seems that only eccentricity and the like are considered
