The location where the defoamer is added to the solvent regeneration unit can be either in the rich liquid pump before it enters the tower, or through the acidic water reflux pump at the top of the tower; it may also be added to the amine solution buffer tank. In plants for processing liquefied gas and dry gas, desulfurization is carried out using lean amine solution (MDEA); the amine solution after desulfurization is sent to a solvent regeneration unit for treatment, while acidic gases are sent to sulfur recovery units. The lean amine solution is recycled, and it is this solvent regeneration unit that I am referring to.
