Low-temperature methanol washing uses the Linde process, with the top pressure of the thermal regeneration tower controlled at 0.25 MpaG. However, currently there are fluctuations in this top pressure (between 0.23 and 0.26 MpaG), and the liquid level in the thermal regeneration reflux tank varies accordingly to these pressure fluctuations: when the pressure is high, the liquid level in the tank drops rapidly, and vice versa. The pressure in our company’s thermal regeneration tower isn’t that high; it remains around 0.21–0.22. I believe that setting the pressure too high will affect pressure fluctuations and also impact the liquid level in the reflux tank.
The design parameter remains 0.24 MpaG; if the pressure drops, the recirculation pump will not operate
Pressure fluctuations cause fluctuations in the liquid level of the return tank. During operation, control the amount of steam added and the top temperature of the tower.

Make sure to properly control the load on the gas tower to ensure that the carbon dioxide entering the thermal regeneration tower does not exceed the specified levels. Also, check whether the pressure relief valves and pressure control valves are functioning properly and sensitively
The inlet liquid temperature and carbon dioxide content are unstable
There are three reasons why the liquid level in the reflux tank drops rapidly when pressure increases. First, an increase in the pressure of the regeneration tower means that the pressure at the inlet of the reflux pump rises, the static head at the pump inlet increases, and thus the pump’s discharge head also increases; II. Increase in flow rate while the valve position of the automatic level control valve in the return tank at the pump outlet remains unchanged ; III. When the liquid level automatic control valve at the pump outlet is in automatic mode, if the pressure increases and the valve fails to respond promptly, the liquid level drops rapidly as well. As for the pressure fluctuations from 1, feeding ; 2. Steam for the reboiler ; 3. Pressure regulating valve or external source ; 1. Feed rate and composition ; 2.
