The problems that have arisen recently in the methanol and water distillation columns are as follows: 1: It is difficult to lower the temperature at the top of the column; the temperature at the top of a column operating at atmospheric pressure is usually around 64.7–64.8, but it currently remains around 65.5–66.0; Moreover, it is also difficult to lower the temperature at multiple points with timely full reflux ; 2: It’s difficult to increase the temperature at the bottom of the tower; following the previous procedures, the temperature rise at the top of the tower is still within normal limits, currently around 88-90. 3: The pressure at the bottom of the tower fluctuates greatly, sometimes being 2-3 KPa and at other times even exceeding 10 KPa. Current situation: 1: Production has only just started, and since the material isn’t dirty, there should be no blockages. 2: The steam pressure in the company may fluctuate significantly. 3: There might be variations in the composition of the material ; I would like to ask everyone: what exactly is causing this situation at the moment, and how can it be resolved?
What is the temperature of the return tank? Is the amount of condensation insufficient?
Has the cooling efficiency of the condenser been checked?
A distillation tower cannot achieve the level of separation you desire. If the total reflux cannot bring the temperature down to the desired level, it is because the number of tray levels or the packing height is insufficient. This is the highest purity that can be achieved. Unless you increase the concentration of your feed, or raise the concentration of the effluent from your tower bottom.

Should we check the content of the media in the incoming and outgoing fluids?
1. The methanol content in the feed may be high; 2. Steam pressure fluctuations are also an important factor ; 3. Has the reboiler been replaced? Is the calorie supply insufficient?
The content of the outlet medium is definitely not up to standard; check the concentration and flow rate of the inlet. Has the flow rate been adjusted?
Has the processing load become greater?
