There are issues with the trays and packing in the methanol distillation tower; what are the effects on the production process, and could this lead to color variations in the product quality?
Start with the tower pressure, pressure difference, temperature, and the product.
If there is a problem with the tray packing, the first signs are changes in the pressure difference and temperature inside the tower; moreover, an analysis shows that the quality of the product also declines.
Currently, the main approach is to maintain product quality by increasing the pressure difference; it’s not clear whether there are any issues with the trays or something similar.
If the tray falls, the pressure difference between the bottom and top of the tower decreases; almost no temperature difference or pressure difference remains throughout the tower, resulting in a decline in product quality. If the tower is blocked, the pressure difference between the bottom and top of the tower becomes extremely large; heat cannot be transferred to the bottom of the tower, and the amount of material at the top of the tower is low
