Reasons for and solutions to severe scaling in the cold drum residual ammonia water pump and pipelines recently

As the title indicates, scaling has occurred in the ammonia water pipelines remaining in our cold drum section; it’s roughly chocolate-colored and already several millimeters thick. My colleague analyzed that it’s due to an increase in the amount of alkali added recently, resulting from a reaction between the alkaline solution and ammonia. I don’t think that makes sense; I suspect it might be caused by clean water getting into the ammonia system But there is no solid evidence. Has anyone encountered this problem at work? Could you help analyze it? I’d also like to ask everyone for suggestions on how to deal with it. Thank you.
Is the amount of residual ammonia water normal? If the water volume is too high, it’s definitely raw water that has seeped in; locate the leak.
