The water ring vacuum pump runs normally when idling, but what is the cause of overload when water is added?
1. Use vacuum electrical components to control the inlet pressure; pressure-sensitive elements such as vacuum diaphragm relays or electric contact vacuum pressure gauges are installed in the inlet pipeline of the water ring vacuum pump. After the vacuum system is started, when the pressure at the inlet of the water ring vacuum pump falls below a specified value, a pressure-sensitive element sends a signal, which triggers the electrical control system to activate the water ring vacuum pump. If the inlet pressure of the unit exceeds the specified value, the water ring vacuum pump shuts down automatically, thereby ensuring its reliable operation. II. Use a mechanical automatic pressure-regulating bypass valve. The bypass valve is installed on the bypass pipeline between the outlet and inlet of the water ring vacuum pump. This valve controls the pressure difference between the pump inlet and outlet to not exceed the rated value. When the pressure difference reaches the rated value, the valve opens automatically due to this pressure difference, allowing the outlet and inlet of the water ring vacuum pump to be connected together, which rapidly reduces the pressure difference between them. At this point, the water ring vacuum pump operates under a load with almost no pressure difference. A water ring vacuum pump equipped with a bypass relief valve can be started simultaneously with the pre-pump, simplifying and facilitating the operation of the unit. When the pressure difference falls below the rated value, the valve closes automatically, and the gas is drawn away by the preceding pump inside the water ring vacuum pump. III. Check the piping to see if the diameter of the air outlet has been reduced and whether there is excessive resistance in the air outlet piping. IV. Check whether there is an excessive amount of water entering the system; too much water at the inlet can also cause the water ring vacuum pump to become overloaded.
How tall is the exhaust pipe? Additionally, a vacuum pump with a mechanical seal cannot run idle, otherwise the mechanical seal is likely to burn out. . .
It might be that the flow rate of the working fluid is too high.
Well, aside from problems with the pump itself, the issue of excessive water loading during installation and use is mainly due to an excessive supply of water, as well as a high exhaust level that results in high drainage resistance. Personally, I think it’s caused by excessive drainage resistance at the exhaust end. We generally recommend that customers keep the height of use below 300 mm and avoid more than 2 bends, otherwise the motor will not be able to handle the load.
It’s probably because the water volume is too high; it’s acting like a water pump :D
First, check whether the water addition valve is leaking internally or cannot be closed properly; we have encountered similar issues here before; Secondly, during operation, care should be taken to keep the liquid level in the tank from rising too high, as this can lead to significant air resistance and thus overcurrent overload!
Water ring vacuum pumps are usually equipped with packing seals; mechanical seals are used rarely, as the medium is non-toxic and harmless.
