The most basic requirement should be a pure liquid free of impurities at a certain temperature ; Question 2: The amount of cooling water is simply sufficient to carry away the heat generated by friction; this net amount of water can be located on the side of the sealing gas or in a separate chamber. There is no need for manual control of the flow rate – it is sufficient to maintain the appropriate pressure. This applies only to sewage pumps, slurry pumps, and other equipment with special requirements. Question 3: The relationship between the medium temperature and this cooling water is that, as long as the medium temperature does not cause deformation or damage to the seal rubber, keeps it clean and free of impurities, and does not cause any damage to the seal, there is no need to use cooling water for cooling.

Water-cooled machine seals are usually equipped with a water nozzle device; if water cooling is not used, they are essentially no different from ordinary machine seals. If the operating conditions do not provide tap water or return water, it is recommended to avoid using a water-cooled seal; instead, consult the manufacturer regarding alternative types of seals. There are no specific requirements regarding temperature; the main issue is the particles generated during the operation of the mechanical seal, or the conversion of kinetic energy from high-speed rotation into heat energy, especially when the machine is running idle.
