I would like to ask fellow sea users: what is the purpose of installing HV vent valves between the quench tower and Converter No. 2 for the low-temperature, low-water vapor ratio conversion process?
Vent valve for warming the pipe before introducing air.
Is it sufficient to place the general pipe warming vent in front of Unit 1 furnace? Why is it necessary to install one in front of the secondary converter?
With sulfur-resistant, wide-temperature range, low-temperature shift catalysts, there can be a situation of furnace pressure buildup during sulfidation at elevated temperatures; in such cases, it is possible to use the secondary shift reactor’s venting function. Similarly, if the bed temperature rises rapidly during operation and cannot be effectively controlled despite various measures, the secondary shift reactor’s venting function can also be utilized, although this is not commonly done. But it is not a necessary permanent feature; an additional mechanism can be added to handle sudden increases in furnace temperature.
Used while driving to warm the tube before gas introduction, and for emergency venting in case of overtemperature.
