Generally, metal hoses are installed on pipes connected to slightly positive pressure tanks. Are they necessary for pipes in utility systems with small diameters (DN25~80)? Are there any guidelines to follow?
When adding hoses, the effect of settlement should be taken into account; smaller tubes are more flexible. However, for utility systems, leaks don’t cause too much of a problem. The suggestions regarding utility systems mentioned by the original poster should also be included.
Is there a situation without a metal hose? For example?
Generally, flexible connections are used for the material outlet pipes of storage tanks; there is no need for pipes such as inert protective gas at the top of the pipes. Of course, there are also those connected to tanks that require flexible connections; that is, the intermediate tank is equipped with sensors for measuring weight.

I’ve seen horizontal storage tanks with a capacity of around 30 cubic meters, those that are supported on the ground; in such cases, there are no hoses connecting them – only solid pipes. Does having supports mean that the effects of settlement can be ignored? I’ve also seen tanks that are placed in pits without any fixation; when the amount of material inside the tank is low and it rains, water accumulates in the pit, causing the tank to float like a boat, and the solid pipes connecting it get broken

It is not necessary if the connection has sufficient flexibility, so that it will not tear due to the settlement of the tank or due to overpressure causing the bottom of the tank to bulge (especially the connections between the valves and the tank).
The new version of 3007 advocates for flexible connections, without the need for hoses. . . .
It is stated in 3007 that the main inlet and outlet pipelines should use flexible connections (not necessarily hoses) to meet the requirements regarding foundation settlement and seismic resistance. What about the auxiliary pipelines connected to the sides of the other tanks? The specification does not clearly specify this here.
