Why can’t a wooden hammer be used to purge non-ferrous metal pipes?

As the title indicates, the pipeline purging procedures specify that, except in the case of non-ferrous metals, the pipes should be struck with a hammer. Dear experts, what is the purpose of tapping? Why can’t non-ferrous metals be hammered?

Blowing uses compressed air, while tapping helps to blow away impurities such as residual rust and debris on the pipe walls! In some cases, the adhesions are so strong that they cannot be blown away at all. Non-ferrous metals cannot be struck. I once read that during the purging process, oxygen in the air reacts with non-ferrous metals, and striking them would intensify such reactions due to the resulting vibrations.
Copper pipes are softer than aluminum pipes, right? May be deformed from knocking~
I have only tapped the pipes when there was oil leakage on YouTube; I haven’t tapped them at other times, including with carbon steel pipes.
