After removing the catalyst from the hydrogen production conversion furnace tubes in our company and preparing to reinstall them, we measured the pressure drop across each tube; the differences in pressure drop between the individual tubes were quite significant. We tried purging the lower end of the tubes with 15 kilograms of nitrogen while also using a small copper hammer to vibrate those ends, but this approach did not yield any noticeable results. First, ensure that the rear passage of the furnace tube is unobstructed; this can be done by opening the flanges at both ends of the large collector pipe below. Next, it might be worth considering blowing air through the furnace tube as well, as there could be areas within it containing clumped catalyst that cannot be removed, so it’s important to keep the furnace tube clean. I wonder how things are on site? This is my personal opinion, for reference only.
I’ve never seen this problem either; could some expert please give me some guidance?
Have you had an endoscopy? It’s been such a long time – how did you resolve it?
Is the furnace tube cleaned thoroughly? When measuring the pressure drop, check whether the flange is tightened?
How is the voltage drop measured? I don’t understand the diagrams of the voltage drop measurement tools in the book; could the original poster give some guidance?
There are two reasons: first, catalyst particles remained on the inner wall of the furnace tube, resulting in uneven pressure drops across the tube; after inspecting and cleaning the furnace tube, measurements should be taken again; Second, there are measurement errors; the pressure drop across the vacuum tube should be measured using the correct method.
