Air preheater lifespan of hydrogen production converter

A few days ago, the air preheater in the conversion furnace of our hydrogen production unit broke down. We use plate-type heaters, and it’s not possible to repair this one. This preheater has been in use for less than two years, and its cost was over 500,000; it’s a real shame. Additionally, the heat exchange plates of our preheater are made of 304 material, and they suffer from severe sulfur corrosion. Colleagues, could you please tell us what material is used for the preheaters in your facilities, what is their approximate service life, and what precautions and operating tips should be followed during use?

A preheater for hydrothermal media would be better, right?
304 is not resistant to corrosion by dilute sulfuric acid
Reply to 1# sddygrdjy: If you are interested in double-fin plate-type air preheaters made from rare earth alloy cast iron, please contact me at qq401197383. The service life of such preheaters is 3-4 times that of those made from 304 material.
Judging from the structure of the second air preheater provided on the 4th floor, it resembles APEX’s products, or products with a structure modeled after APEX’s
Also, may I ask whether the corrosion on the 4th floor occurs on the air side or the flue gas side?
This post was last edited by Qianli Caoyuan on 2012-1-20 at 08:31. Use a cast-iron plate-fin air preheater; there’s no better alternative. Stainless-steel plate-fin air preheaters have already been damaged due to dew point corrosion more than once.
