Everyone, during the material cutting process, should the length of the studs be based on the length specified in the standards, or should it be the standard length plus the thickness of a gasket – in other words, 5 mm more?
The thickness of the gasket is specified in the standards for bolts
The length specified in the standards already takes the thickness of the gasket into account; no additional adjustment is needed, and it can be used directly.
There is still debate regarding whether the threads must be exposed above the nut. In ASME B31.3, it is allowed to not be exposed; it seems like one tooth is missing.
The standard length is already quite long; adding more to it will make it look even longer
The standard states that the bolt length does not include the thickness of the washers; any additional washers required must be considered separately. The thickness of the shims, on the other hand, should indeed be taken into account. I calculated the gasket thickness myself, and the length specified in the standards is still a bit longer than what I calculated
In actual work, it’s sufficient to fill it with buckles.
Our client requires at least 3 threads to leak through
Under chemical engineering standards, the length of bolts requires consideration to be given to the thickness of the gaskets; is it the ASME standard that does not require taking the gasket thickness into account? @Thank goodness for you:o
