During the installation of the 8-character blind flange, are shims added on both sides? Will this result in the studs having a length increase of 15 mm?
Surely shims need to be added on both sides; the amount added depends on the thickness of the shims and the thickness of the 8-shaped blind plate.

This post was last edited by lovepds on 2017-1-10 at 16:02. Since there are gaskets on both sides, adding 15mm uniformly may not be appropriate; the amount to add should be calculated based on the thickness of the actual gasket and the blind plate, with the result rounded to the nearest 5mm.

The exact number of shims to use depends on the installation location and purpose: 1. To prevent the mixing of different media in a piping system, 2 shims must be used； 2. To prevent leakage of the medium at the ends of pipeline systems or at low points, etc., 1 gasket can be added (at the front end of the blind plate)
