For projects in collaboration with foreign companies, the materials meet European standards, such as EN 10216-2 and P265GH. But the problem is that buying this material is very time-consuming and expensive. So the manager has asked me to switch to domestic materials with similar performance. I was wondering if Haiyou has any experience in this area? I have no idea how to get started.

Materials that differ little in chemical composition and mechanical properties can be substituted for one another; it is necessary to check not only the pipes but also the flanges and valves, as well as their temperature and pressure curves. Some carbon steel pipes can be used as replacements; after all, carbon steel pipes are employed in applications where the requirements are not very stringent. There’s nothing that can be done then. What bothers me the most is material substitution, checking standards, and looking up comparisons of mechanical properties.
Regarding the pipeline P265GH on the 6th floor, a replacement has already been provided**； However, it’s also difficult to find 20MnG in stock; the same issue of lead time for custom orders applies, so there’s no need for a replacement. The normal production time for these two materials is 30–45 days, with some specifications available in stock. For some specifications, delivery can be completed in about 20 days. Regarding steel plates, there is some in stock available on the market; Wuhan Iron and Steel and Wuhan Steel should both have some available, but once again, the range of specifications is incomplete.
