What are the internal anti-corrosion standards for long-distance pipelines used to transport crude oil and refined petroleum products? How is anti-corrosion treatment usually carried out inside the joints of pipes? What is the maximum diameter possible? What is the typical thickness of internal anti-corrosion coating? How is paint quality ensured, and how is it tested?
As far as I know, long-distance pipelines generally do not require internal anti-corrosion treatment due to current protection, and no corrosion margin is taken into account during design. The pipelines within the station are classified as industrial pipelines and are designed accordingly.
External current cathodic protection is primarily used to protect the outer wall of pipelines. The function of internal anti-corrosion measures is to reduce corrosion as well as to lower the friction coefficient on the inner wall surface
