If the medium in a pressure pipeline is gas, liquefied gas, steam, or a liquid that is flammable, explosive, toxic, corrosive, and has a maximum operating temperature equal to or higher than its standard boiling point, then the question arises: Does the pipeline downstream of a steam trap (with an operating pressure greater than 0.1 Mpa and a diameter greater than 50 mm) qualify as a pressure pipeline? What I don’t understand is whether the liquid medium in question must simultaneously meet the criteria of being flammable, explosive, toxic, corrosive, and having a maximum operating temperature equal to or higher than its standard boiling point
If the condensate temperature is above 100 degrees, it is a pressure pipeline.
If the pressure in your pipeline is greater than 1 kilogram and the temperature exceeds 100 degrees, that’s sufficient. But generally speaking, we don’t design it as a pressure pipeline, because under normal conditions the amount of water that needs to be drained isn’t high enough to require continuous discharge. In the case of condensed water that is to be recycled, there is certainly a pressure of 1 kilogram, but the temperature may be around 100 degrees only in the short section right after the drain valve; most of the pipes downstream do not have a temperature of 100 degrees.
A pressure pipeline is defined as one that meets one of the following conditions: the maximum pressure in the pipeline is greater than 0.1 MPa, and the pipe diameter is at least DN50. For condensate pipes, if the pressure is greater than 1 kilogram, the temperature is higher than 100 degrees, and the pipe diameter is at least DN50, then it is considered a pressure pipe.
