What considerations should be taken into account when drawing the as-built drawings of pipelines? I’d like some advice
Keep it in line with the actual on-site situation.
It involves supplementing and refining the content of subsequent change orders based on the detailed design archive files, to ensure that the final drawings match the actual site conditions.
If the pipes are identical to the design upon completion, simply stamp the completion mark on the original design drawings. If the differences amount to no more than 1/3, the changes can be made directly on the original drawings before stamping them. If it exceeds 1/3, it needs to be redrawn.
During on-site installation, the owner is bound to make some changes, and the design team may not be aware of this; it is best for the owner to compile a summary of these changes.
As-built drawings have always been a weak point in project management, or even non-existent in some cases. Current projects are not carried out following standard construction procedures; design and construction take place simultaneously, resulting in numerous changes. Moreover, the construction firms lack the skills to create drawings, which leads to significant discrepancies between the drawings and the actual site condition, leaving everything unresolved in the end. The as-built drawing is an upgraded version of the detailed design, and in principle, it is required to be consistent with the actual site conditions. All the modifications resulting from design changes must be fully incorporated into the detailed design drawings.
In reality, this facilitates future maintenance.
