For PDMS, if the workload isn’t large, it’s fine to use CAD for drawing.
CAD will work; there are specialized software tools in the industry for drawing single-line diagrams, as well as management tools for such diagrams

Using CAD is too troublesome. Is there any professional software? With CAD, one has to create blocks by oneself, and moreover, CAD doesn’t have a function for material tracking

Generally, 3D software is used for such projects; PDMS, PDS, SP3D, and so on can all be employed. However, this involves a lot of preliminary work, including the creation of databases and modeling later on. For small projects, using 3D software is an overkill – it’s too complicated; CAD is faster, and it’s easier to keep track of the amount of material needed.
