As the title says. Should the valve material be 304 or 316? Does high penetration require 316? or other materials
Yes, better materials can also be chosen, such as duplex steel and Hastelloy, etc., though they are much more expensive.
It is recommended to use heat-resistant steel such as WC6 for the valve body, and 316 with STL cladding for the valve core; I have worked on projects under such conditions.
I have seen a type of molten salt valve manufactured by the American company Fox; the valve body is made of A351CF8C material.
