I would like to ask those who are familiar with ASME B16.5 whether there are any mandatory requirements in this standard regarding the indication of the face type on flange markings (similar to WN-RF, SW-RF). The standard does specify requirements for the RJ format, but none for the RF format? Thank you for your reply. A reward of 2 wealth points is given as a token of appreciation
If the end face is not indicated, how can it be purchased? How can others know what gaskets to use for the flanges on the drawings?
B16.34 specifies ring numbers for RJ, while no such specifications exist for others
That’s how it is; there’s a supplier who insists on arguing with me, and I need to find out where it comes from
It must be specified; otherwise, I don’t know how to match it
It’s a bid; I’m trying to find where it is now: L
Is it still necessary to find out where this comes from? If five or six types of sealing surfaces such as FF, RF, RJ are not defined, does that mean manufacturers can supply them arbitrarily? It’s better to reject such suppliers.
You will fail and be unable to find the source. The ASME B16.5 standard does not require that the type of end face (such as WN-RF, SW-RF) be indicated on the flange markings. The type of end face is specified in the description of the product’s model number, but it is not included in the printed markings. The standards specify the RJ format, but what about the RF format? If not marked, it defaults to RF; if it is RJ, the loop number is marked. Other types of sealing surfaces are generally not used.
