The inlet pipe has a diameter of DN15, and it is connected to a self-priming gear pump. From the pump’s perspective, flow limitation is done before the pump and pressure limitation is done after it; the valves used to control flow should be installed before the pump, and the inlet valve should not be kept closed for long periods of time, as this could cause a vacuum condition in the pump. I thought of 2 solutions: The first solution is to imagine a three-way float valve, that is, placing the flow control valve behind the pump; even if water cannot enter the tank, it can flow through the return circuit, thus keeping the inlet flow rate to the pump constant and allowing the pump to remain running without any issues. But after searching everywhere, I couldn’t find a three-way float valve of that type. The second approach is to place the flow control valve in front of the pump, and use a flow detection automatic switch (which can be purchased for just a few dozen dollars) to automatically control the start and stop of the pump; in that case, I would need a remote-controlled float valve (since the flow control valve is located at a distance), rather than a simple plug-type float valve. However, after searching thoroughly, I couldn’t find any remote-controlled float valves with a DN15 size – they are all designed for larger pipe diameters. I hope it’s possible to find a simpler solution, but after spending several hours trying, I still haven’t succeeded. Please offer some suggestions; thanks in advance!
