Write about the valve-related problems encountered by our company. In the cold drum section of the coking plant, work mainly involves dealing with water and gas. Especially for the valves on water pipes, gate valves are basically used. Previously, carbon steel straight-stem copper-seat gate valves were used; however, due to the frequent dropping of the gate plates and leaks caused by corrosion of the packing in the screw rods, these were replaced with cast steel gate valves. Yet, the problem of the gate plates dropping still occurred frequently. Open the valve to investigate the cause; it turns out that the manufacturer cut corners by failing to properly secure the connection between the gate and the screw, which led to the loss of the weight. Does anyone have any good methods or suggestions regarding valves?
Are your gate valves used to shut off the flow of material or to regulate it? A regular gate valve only serves to shut off flow, either fully open or fully closed. When a gate valve is opened to half its position or used to regulate flow, the resistance exerted by the gate on the fluid is relatively high, which can cause the gate to vibrate. Over time, this may lead to internal leakage in the valve; in more severe cases, it can even result in the separation of the gate from the screw. Just my personal opinion
Either turn it up to the max or turn it down to the minimum.
Is a globe valve needed to regulate flow? Will the impurities in the water you use for aquaculture and the flow rate of water wash the check valve out of its seat, resulting in it not closing properly?
Gate valves have a regulating function, but if there are impurities present, the valve disc and seat may not close tightly due to these impurities, resulting in internal leakage; if the impurities are in the form of solid particles, a V-ball valve can be used.
It is the control valve for the first-stage water and second-stage water in the primary cooler
