Why are safety valves with wrenches used for non-hazardous media such as air, hot water above 60°C, or steam?
It is used for manual discharge (pressure relief). When the pressure of the medium reaches 75% of the set opening pressure of the safety valve, the handle can be used to carry out manual discharge. The requirement is that the safety valves installed on the equipment itself must be manually discharged on a regular basis, to prevent them from sticking due to not being opened for an extended period of time, which could affect safety.
