I would like to ask the experts: what are the visual differences between double-direction hard-seal and single-direction hard-seal butterfly valves? How can one distinguish between them based on their appearance? Seeking advice from experts
Two-way hard sealing refers to the ability to seal from both directions when the butterfly valve is closed. Single-direction hard sealing means that the butterfly disc provides sealing in one direction only, and it is not possible to stop the flow of the medium from the other side. Visually, the body of a one-way sealed butterfly valve usually has flow direction markings cast on it.
Butterfly valves with double sealing are much more expensive
The most straightforward method is what was mentioned above: check whether there is a direction arrow on the valve body.
Two-way hard-sealed butterfly valves generally belong to the category of high-performance butterfly valves; in these valves, the seal ring is not located on the conventional butterfly disc, but rather on the valve body. In one-way hard-sealed butterfly valves, the seal rings are situated on the butterfly disc.
