In gear drives, with the exception of some high-speed devices, most are used for low-speed, heavy-load applications. Typically, when devices operate at high speeds, they rotate in one direction, and oil slinger seals can be used to prevent leaks. During low-speed, heavy-load operation, when the machine needs to start frequently or operate back and forth repeatedly, more effective sealing devices are required. The gearbox on the electric valves at a power plant often experiences various oil leakage problems due to factors such as vibration, temperature, and aging seals during frequent operation. When the gearbox leaks severely, it not only causes environmental pollution but also poses certain safety hazards. By analyzing the causes of oil leakage due to gearbox failure, the following conclusions were drawn. (1) The oil pressure inside the gearbox is not appropriate, resulting in the expansion of gases generated by lubrication inside ; The return oil flow is also obstructed, resulting in poor sealing at the seals. (2) The clearances are unreasonable; the gaps between the end caps and the shaft, as well as between the end caps and the oil slinger rings, are too large. This renders these components ineffective, resulting in a failure of the gearbox seal and oil leakage. To address the oil leakage issue in the gearbox, the company carried out leak sealing using Sorex carbon nanopolymer material for repairs. This material boasts excellent adhesion, good oil resistance, and anti-aging properties, enabling effective treatment of oil leaks on-site. It offers high efficiency in repair processes – no need to disassemble the equipment or shut it down; the treatment can be carried out while the system is under pressure. The on-site procedure is as follows: 1. Clean the oil from the leaking area, and grind the surrounding area of the leak so that the original metal color is exposed; the bolt areas also need to be surface-treated ; 2. Clean thoroughly; after surface treatment, it should be clean, dry, firm, and rough ; 3. Mix the SD2240 material and seal the small areas where leakage occurs until no more leakage is present ; 4. After the surface of the material has cured, mix SD7111C again to cover the entire raw material; once the material cures, the repair is complete. Oil leakage from gearboxes is caused by various factors; the sealing design, operating environment, and improper operation can all lead to gearbox failure and oil leakage. Therefore, in addition to proper maintenance, when dealing with gearbox oil leakage, it is necessary to use carbon nanopolymer materials to seal the leaks promptly, and the repair work must be carried out strictly in accordance with established procedures. Only in this way can such problems be addressed effectively over time.
"Oil leakage from gearboxes is caused by various factors; the sealing design, operating environment, and improper operation can all lead to gearbox failure and oil leakage. A gearbox is a box-like structure, with cast iron being the common material used for it; electric actuators may be made of cast aluminum. How can a metal casing be damaged as a result of the operating environment, thereby causing oil leakage? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? If an gearbox leaks oil, apart from abnormal damage, could there be other reasons? ? ? Regarding the actuator of the Yangxiu model, a technician on site once told me that the motor must not be allowed to surge.
