Electric butterfly valves are widely used in industries such as metallurgy, chemicals, building materials, power plants, and glass manufacturing, in the ventilation and environmental protection systems involving dust-containing cool air or hot gas pipelines, serving as devices for regulating the flow rate of gas media or for shutting off flow. In many cases, electric butterfly valves fail to close properly due to damaged seals, which results in poor sealing performance during operation. This is usually caused by the impact and corrosion of liquids on sealed surfaces over an extended period of time. At a certain flow rate, the fine particles contained in the liquid will continuously impact the sealing surface over time, leading to localized damage to its performance; this results in inadequate sealing as a whole and can cause leaks. The manufacturing materials of sealed noodles, as well as the quality of processing, are all reasons that lead to such conditions occurring. The quality of a sealed watch face is primarily reflected in whether there are cracks, pores, or impurities on it. No, human error, improper installation, and lack of proper maintenance are also important causes of sealing problems in electric butterfly valves. Such issues can be prevented through proper management. Electric butterfly valves have the following two features: 1. They are designed and manufactured using a new structural approach that involves the use of a central disc combined with a short, steel-made disc welded together; this results in a compact structure, low weight, easy installation, low flow resistance, high flow capacity, and protection against the effects of high temperatures. Operation of such valves is straightforward. 2. There are no connecting rods or bolts inside, which ensures reliable operation and a long service life. It can be installed in multiple positions and is not affected by the flow of the medium. Analysis of the reasons for leakage when electric butterfly valves do not close properly: Let’s briefly discuss the most commonly used types, namely electric soft-sealed butterfly valves and electric hard-sealed butterfly valves. I. Electric soft-sealed butterfly valve (the material used for the butterfly valve in this case is ductile iron, with rubber seals). Electric soft-sealed butterfly valve: This type of electric butterfly valve is commonly used for opening and closing water that is at room temperature and non-corrosive. There are two reasons for this leakage: 1. Corrosion of the valve body; since it is made of ductile iron, over time corrosion will inevitably occur, leading to leakage. 2. The rubber valve seat is damaged; due to prolonged opening and closing, the wear resistance of the rubber is insufficient, leading to seal failure. 3. The reason for the electric actuator is inadequate commissioning at the site, which led to leakage. II. Electric hard-sealed butterfly valve (the material of the butterfly valve is carbon steel, with a metal hard seal). Electric hard-sealed butterfly valve: This type of butterfly valve is used in harsh operating conditions, typically with high-temperature steam, heat transfer oil, etc. The main reason for his disclosure was related to the sealing surface: 1. Damage to the sealing surface, caused by high-temperature steam erosion. 2. Prolonged erosion by fine, hard particles; 3. Air holes in the butterfly valve disc.
