SHT 3007-2014 Code for Design of Tank Areas in Petrochemical Storage and Transportation Systems 6.3.5 Pipes connected to storage tanks shall use flexible connections, and shall meet the requirements for earthquake resistance and prevention of tank settlement. Hose connections should not be used. (GB50160-6.2.25 The inlet and outlet pipes of storage tanks shall be equipped with flexible connections. ;7.2.18 Pipelines for liquefied hydrocarbons, liquid chlorine, and liquid ammonia shall not be connected using hoses, and pipelines for flammable liquids shall not be connected using non-metallic hoses. ) What other methods can be used for flexible connections besides metal hoses? ? ? Liquefied hydrocarbon storage tanks cannot be connected using hoses; then how should flexible connections be achieved?
A flexible connection is not the same as a soft connection. A certain structural design is adopted to achieve a flexible effect. It’s actually an issue to keep in mind in piping design.
The elbow is angled at 45 degrees to connect the inlet and outlet of the tank from the main pipe
