On February 27, CPECC North China Branch won the bid for the survey and design project of the Guyang-Baiyun Ebo natural gas pipeline project in western Inner Mongolia. This is the second time we have undertaken a hydrogen-blended pipeline project, following the Baotou-Linhe gas pipeline project. The project was approved by the Development and Reform Commission of Baotou City, Inner Mongolia, on December 26, 2023. The total investment for this project is 494.3556 million yuan. The pipeline length is approximately 125 kilometers, with a design pressure of 6.3 MPa and a diameter of DN457 mm. This project features hydrogen transportation capabilities, and it represents a practical measure to implement the Energy Development Plan for the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. It is of great significance for advancing the gasification of Inner Mongolia, accelerating the interconnection of gas pipelines at various levels, and ensuring that all counties in the western region have access to gas supply. At the same time, this project lays out the necessary pathways in advance to overcome the bottlenecks in hydrogen transportation; in the long term, it will be connected to the pure hydrogen pipelines and the Baotou-Linhe gas pipeline that are under construction, thereby providing a transportation infrastructure for green hydrogen projects in the region. In the future, it will play an important role in promoting the development of clean energy supply bases in the autonomous region, as well as the utilization of hydrogen energy and the upgrading of the industrial structure.
