For low-pressure superheated steam with a superheat of 170 to 210 degrees, is it necessary to install a steam trap or a manual low-point drain? Since superheated steam is dry gas, there is no condensed water during operation; condensed water only appears at the time of initial startup. Therefore, it is sufficient to install only a manual drain for the low point of the superheated steam.
Superheated steam pipes theoretically do not produce condensate water, so steam traps are not required under normal circumstances. However, for system safety, condensate water may be generated during the first start-up or shutdown; it is advisable to install a manual low-point drain to remove this condensate water. .
