I only knew about fixed ball valves, floating ball valves, single-piece types, and two-piece types. What exactly are these top-mounted and side-mounted types, and is there any connection between them and the valve classifications mentioned earlier?
Top-mounted ball valves and side-mounted ball valves refer to the methods of installing and maintaining ball valves. The ball and internal components of the top-mounted ball valve can be removed and installed from the top of the valve body, facilitating maintenance ; The side-mounted ball valve is removed through the side of the valve body. These two classifications have no direct connection with classifications such as fixed ball valves and floating ball valves; the latter are distinguished based on the way in which the ball moves and its structure, whereas top-mounted and side-mounted types are differentiated according to the method of maintenance. .
Is this related to one-piece, two-piece, and three-piece ball valves? I notice that in other companies’ specifications, it is indicated whether the ball valve is to be installed from above or from the side; I never paid attention to this when working on projects before
Under normal circumstances, when should top mounting be chosen and when should side mounting be chosen?
This is the structural diagram of the top-mounted ball valve and the side-mounted ball valve
I’m the one who does the designing; I don’t know what to choose. I’ve never used this thing in previous projects :D
Isn’t this just a two-piece ball valve?
The image above shows top-mounted installation, the one below shows side-mounted installation, and there is also a fully welded type.
