Construction begins on the Haitai New Energy Kangbao-Caofeidian hydrogen pipeline project

On October 28, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Haitai New Energy Kangbao-Caofeidian hydrogen pipeline project was successfully held in Zhangbei County, Zhangjiakou. As an important part of the backbone network for hydrogen transportation, this project passes through 3 cities and 18 counties and districts. Once completed, it will facilitate the development of a green hydrogen supply chain in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, providing essential support for the growth of industries related to green hydrogen, green ammonia, and green methanol, thereby further promoting the green transformation of the energy structure. At the groundbreaking ceremony, an overview of the pipeline project, its construction plan, and its future development vision were presented. Upon completion of the project, it will be equivalent to replacing 4.81 million tons of standard coal per year and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 9.16 million tons; in terms of ecological benefits, this is equivalent to adding 650 million trees to the Earth. At the same time, the project will drive the development of related industries such as steel and pipeline manufacturing as well as logistics, and promote the coordinated improvement of upstream and downstream technologies related to hydrogen production, storage, and energy storage. It will effectively address the issue of geographical mismatch between hydrogen production areas and consumption markets, providing the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region with a stable and clean source of hydrogen as well as solid infrastructure. This will support the development of this region into a hub for industries related to hydrogen, ammonia, and alcohol, thereby contributing to the achievement of the **\"dual carbon\" goals. Furthermore, the project also has the potential to engage in external markets and international cooperation; it is expected to become a new channel for energy cooperation and green trade on the global scale, laying the foundation for the domestic hydrogen industry chain to expand its reach overseas.
