Recently, the Mianyang Natural Gas Chemical New Materials Pilot Production Base was officially launched in the Yanting Julong Chemical Park. Its aim is to create a fully intelligent comprehensive management platform that integrates technical pilot testing, public technology services, and outcome incubation, thereby providing strong technological impetus for the high-quality development of the energy and chemical industries in Mianyang and the Chengdu-Chongqing region as a whole. It is reported that the Mianyang Natural Gas Chemical New Materials Pilot Plant project covers an area of about 180 mu. The planned facilities include pilot production workshops, a central control room, high-standard laboratories, an innovation incubation center, chemical warehouses for Class A and B substances, as well as related utility facilities. The project will fully leverage the advantages of resource aggregation and industrial leadership, serving as a core driver for the high-quality development of the regional new materials industry and providing strong impetus for the upgrading of local industries and the high-quality growth of the economy. At the project launch ceremony, a promotion event for the Yanting Julong Chemical Park was also held simultaneously. On site, the People’s Government of Yanting County and the Institute of Chemical Materials of the China Academy of Engineering Physics signed a cooperation agreement ； Yanting Development and Investment Group Co., Ltd. has entered into a partnership with the School of Chemical Engineering at Sichuan University and China Chengda Engineering Corporation. Adhering to the principles of \"complementary strengths, resource sharing, collaborative innovation, and mutual benefit,\" all parties will jointly establish the \"Sichuan Province Natural Gas Chemical New Materials Industry Research Institute.\" This institute will integrate technology research and development, achievement transformation, enterprise incubation, industrial services, and talent training, thereby helping to turn the Yanting Chemical Industrial Park into an important hub for the natural gas chemical new materials industry in the western region. As one of the partners, Li Tianyou, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Chemical Engineering at Sichuan University, said that the school will leverage its strengths in research and talent development to provide support to the base in terms of key technology development, customized talent training, project attraction, and technology transfer. This effort is aimed at helping the Yanting base become a regional hub for innovation and an industrial incubator, thereby making significant contributions to the strategy in energy chemistry and the high-quality development of the local area. It is reported that Yanting has identified the energy and chemical industry as its priority sector, and has worked to get the Yanting Julong Chemical Park approved as a provincial-level chemical park; this marks the official entry of the region into the \"new arena\" of the energy and chemical industry, with investments in the order of tens of billions. At the same time, Yanting has successfully introduced a number of key projects, including high-performance polyester materials, chemical flavors, and advanced conductive materials for new energy applications. Currently, there are 18 such key projects in the pipeline, with a total investment of over 27 billion yuan; an energy and chemical industry cluster worth 50 billion yuan is rapidly taking shape.
