At present, the unit is not in production and there is no fluid inside the reboiler. To prevent freezing and condensation, a small amount of steam is introduced into the reboiler, with the flow controlled by a condensate control valve. The hand valve body upstream of the control valve is hot, while the hand valve body downstream is cool. And there are occasional liquid slugs. What’s causing this? If liquid slugging occurs in the steam or condensate main pipelines, how should it be dealt with to eliminate the liquid slugging?
When a small amount of liquid with a high temperature enters an empty pipeline and vaporizes, it encounters cold water and this causes liquid slugging; the only solution is to warm it up slowly – there’s no other way. It will be fine after some time

Equipment that is shut down during winter should have all remaining water drained from it, and it should be dried using nitrogen or compressed air – isn’t that stated in the operating procedures? It’s also more energy-efficient than using a small amount of steam! Operating blindly without following the procedures will inevitably lead to problems
If liquid slugging occurs, just drain out the condensate
Isn’t anti-freezing done using nitrogen or compressed air? Who told you to use steam to warm the pipes?
What happens to the water inside if the steam stops?
After shutdown, purge with nitrogen, or allow continuous nitrogen flow. It cannot be steamed.
This problem is caused by too little steam volume and too low temperature of the condensate water; it can only be resolved by increasing the steam supply
Failing to clean it thoroughly can also cause the pipelines to freeze and crack
It is possible to modify the process by stopping the use of steam; another option is to draw in condensed water from an area with high pressure to facilitate the flow of the condensed water present there, which also prevents waste of steam
