Normally, the flame of the torch is small and there is almost no sound, but sometimes the flame becomes larger and the torch makes a loud noise that’s quite frightening. I don’t know how such a loud sound can be produced by the torch. Does anyone know? Please tell me, thank you

The sound of the torch is mainly produced by steam, which serves to aid combustion and cool down. The louder sound is definitely due to more gas being released into the flare, which in turn results in an increase in steam volume, and that’s why the sound is louder.

Why is everyone talking about the sound of smoke-clearing steam? The original poster also didn’t mention whether this torch has smoke-reducing steam. The most likely explanation is that the emission volume is high, the exit Mach number is large, so the noise level must also be high; if it’s a sonic torch, the noise will be even greater
I don’t understand; perhaps the original poster really should provide the specific design parameters of the torch, as the noise produced by the smoke-reducing steam is always quite loud. But it shouldn’t have anything to do with the size of the torch displacement, right?
When the emission volume is high, the flow rate of the gas increases, and consequently the noise level rises as well. Additionally, with a higher emission volume, more steam is needed to remove the smoke; otherwise, the flare will emit black smoke
