Questions regarding the smoke exhaust fan at the reaction station

When the smoke extractor is started normally, is the pressure balance line at the inlet of the smoke extractor always open? Is this line used to preheat the air before it reaches the gate valve at the smoke extractor inlet?
We have two pipelines: one is for heating water, and the other is for warming the machine. It has to be turned off even when it’s working normally.
It can be turned off after the normal operation is resumed after the delay
If it isn’t closed, a large amount of smoke will flow through this pipeline, and as a result, the smoke machine will produce less power
This is used to preheat the smoke extractor. We thought it wouldn’t be very effective, so we cut it down early.
