Regarding the pipelines connected to the tower, should the connection between the pipeline and the tower be disconnected, or should the steam be directly introduced into the tower? It’s my first time carrying out such operations, so I’m not very familiar with this process. Please share your insights; thanks, bonus points for help!
It’s best to disconnect it; as for whether it will be clean after being blown into the tower, it’s impossible to tell, and without such verification, the quality of the purging process cannot be guaranteed!
Regarding this matter, my personal opinion is that you should divide it from inside the tower; in this way, there is no need to disassemble or assemble the flanges used to open and close the tower. It is possible to disconnect the inlet flanges of the heat exchange equipment and containers while steam is being released. Also, components such as orifice plates, flow meters, and flame arresters should be disconnected as well, and only after they have been purged successfully can they be reconnected for a comprehensive purge ! ! ! ! !

It needs to be disconnected during purging, as impurities carried into the tower will contaminate it. Additionally, as mentioned earlier, purging should occur in both directions: the pipelines should be purged at the boundaries of the tower, and the various measurement lines inside the tower should have their contents expelled outside

Blowing is also a part of the process for checking the quality of the work; it must be carried out thoroughly. Every pipeline and every container needs to be blown out and pressure-tested to ensure they are satisfactory, each weld must be tapped with heavy objects, and the steam turbine must also undergo various tests… After blowing, there are steps such as water testing and oil testing, and during operation there are many other procedures including thermal tightening. . . .
