There is a slight advantage to vaporizing the feed in the 2-stage extraction distillation column, as it allows for a smaller reboiler size; however, this does not mean that the solvent is being heated. This further explains why heating the solvent is more effective than heating the feed. How should we understand the statement that heating the solvent is more effective than heating the feed?
