The sintering temperature for the regenerated lining is around 550 degrees. The temperature of the superheated steam is around 480-450 degrees. Exterior heat-exchange tubes have a temperature resistance of around 450-500 degrees. If steam protection is used, the material resistance of the pipes decreases, and there is a higher risk of pipe rupture under increased loads. So, no steam protection is needed when baking the lining.
By injecting steam, no circulation can be established, and the furnace tubes cannot be protected; it’s equivalent to burning dry.
