Qilu Petrochemical’s MTBE technology achieves efficiency improvements through technology licensing

2024/5/10　　   Recently, Qilu Petrochemical signed a technology licensing agreement for the decomposition of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) with Zhenhai Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., to help the company increase its profits.   The MTBE decomposition technology developed independently by Qilu Petrochemical is primarily used to produce high-purity isobutylene products, which serve as raw materials for chemical manufacturing facilities; this technology is at an advanced level in China. Following the signing of the technology license agreement, team members from Qilu Petrochemical’s research and development department will be involved throughout the entire process—from plant construction and equipment installation to pre-startup training and post-commissioning technical calibration. They will provide ongoing guidance, promptly resolve any issues encountered by the client during application, and offer technical support for the plant’s commissioning. In recent years, the company has adhered to a market-oriented approach, promoting scientific and technological innovations; it fosters the widespread adoption of such innovations as well as their commercialization.
