Dear teachers, why is sampling done at each individual unit, while in the tank area it’s the laboratory staff who carry out the sampling? Why not have those in storage and transportation handle the sampling? What is the reason for this requirement?
I don’t quite understand; why would one cheat?
Sampling by the storage and transportation staff in the tank area may involve cheating, as there are various assessments, and they will use various means to their advantage to protect their own interests.
The laboratory staff should take samples in a more fair and professional manner before selling products from the tank farm.
In the tank storage area, most of the products are subject to evaluation, and it is necessary to adhere strictly to quality standards. In contrast, the plants contain only intermediate products, for which less stringent quality standards apply; there is more flexibility, as long as the standards are met within certain limits. Defects that occur in the short term can be corrected promptly, and some defective intermediate products can even be reprocessed. Once the products reach the tank storage area, however, it is essential to ensure their quality. To prevent fraud and maintain fairness and integrity, laboratory technicians need to take samples personally.
