Does a control room intended for use in a single workshop need to be designed as an explosion-proof structure? It is located about 45 meters away from the production equipment, which poses an explosion risk. Can the existing office building be utilized?
Whether the control room needs to be designed as an explosion-proof structure has no direct relation to the number of workshops it serves. The blast-resistant structure has its form determined by the limited explosion of nearby devices. If the impact is minor, a standard frame structure with infill walls will suffice; if the impact is significant, blast-resistant reinforced concrete walls are required.
