Compared to ordinary project management software for warehousing, this technology enables more efficient management of the entire warehousing process, including material production, delivery, storage, retrieval, relocation, and inventory counting. It provides support for both PC terminals and handheld mobile devices such as PDAs throughout this process. Through practical application, it is possible to significantly improve the efficiency and quality of on-site management of project materials and equipment. The use of mobile devices offers additional advantages in the following areas:
Accurate and efficient inventory management is achieved through the use of QR codes\RFID tags; when a handheld device passes over the materials in the areas where inventory is added or removed, the information about those materials is automatically collected by the mobile device, making the process more accurate and efficient than manual counting.
Real-time dynamic inventory counting: Handheld devices are used to scan and identify the physical items on site, generating information about those items; this data is then integrated with the SPM system’s data to produce real-time inventory reports. Simple and fast, **it reduces the inventory reconciliation cycle and ensures consistency between the physical and virtual inventory data.
Goods search: When looking for a certain material, enter the relevant information about that material into the handheld device and scan the area; when the target material is found, the system emits a sound signal to help locate it quickly.
Intelligent warehousing management of engineering materials is a crucial aspect of the entire life cycle of project management, and it represents the trend in material management.
