It has 10 lanes in each direction, a designed speed of 100 kilometers per hour, and its main tower is 279.5 meters tall, making it the tallest \"A\"-type tower in the world – equivalent to the height of 100 floors. At midnight on April 30, the entire Wuhan Fourth Ring Road was opened to traffic. As one of the key engineering projects in this regard, the Wuhan Qingshan Yangtze River Bridge, with a width of 48 meters, was also put into use; this \"widest Yangtze River bridge\" is now officially operational. “The Qingshan Yangtze River Bridge, with a total length of 7.548 kilometers, is the 11th bridge over the Yangtze River in Wuhan. It is two meters wider than the Wuchang Dunkou Yangtze River Bridge, making it the bridge with the widest deck across the Yangtze River at present. ”Xu Gongyi, a national master of engineering design and deputy chief engineer at China Railway Bridge Survey and Design Institute, explained that the Qingshan Yangtze River Bridge was designed to meet the standards for heavy traffic and highways. The constructor of the bridge, China Railway Major Bridge Group, stated that the main span of the Qingshan Yangtze River Bridge amounts to 938 meters, making it the longest cable-stayed bridge with a fully floating system in the world. The main steel girder of this bridge type is not supported by any crossbeams; it remains in a fully suspended state thanks to the tension from the cable stays, which gives it a unique appearance. “In the event of strong winds or rare earthquakes, a fully floating cable-stayed bridge can swing longitudinally to the greatest extent without being constrained by piers, ‘swinging’ along the direction of the cables, thereby avoiding structural resonance and achieving the best possible effect in terms of seismic energy dissipation. ”Liu Chengliang, project manager of the Wuhan Qingshan Yangtze River Bridge for China Railway Major Bridge Group, said that when the bridge undergoes temperature-induced deformation or normal creep deformation, the separated suspension structures help to prevent excessive internal stresses from developing within the bridge. To meet the requirements of high loads, heavy traffic volumes, and wide waterways for the bridge, a range of intelligent and prefabricated construction techniques and equipment were employed in the construction of the Qingshan Yangtze River Bridge. At the same time, 8,400 square meters of land was created through sandblasting, enabling the construction of the bridge’s main piers from above water to be carried out on land; this greatly improved construction efficiency and provided valuable experience for the construction of similar large-scale infrastructure projects. It is understood that the Qingshan Yangtze River Bridge is located between the Tianxingzhou Yangtze River Bridge and the Yangluo Yangtze River Bridge. Once opened to traffic, it will serve as a new rapid highway freight corridor in Wuhan, further optimizing the city’s \"ring + radial\" road network structure. It holds great significance for strengthening Wuhan’s status as a comprehensive transportation hub and for developing it into a modern logistics center in the central region.
